So I've gotten this video on Instagram like 4 times this morning of a woman who recorded a Black man on his knees surrounded by cops. Throughout the video, more and more police showed up and had these big ass guns held on this man. She started crying, I started crying, it's a pretty emotional video. One cop was like "slowly get up and walk over to us" and the woman videoing it was like, nah don't get up, somebody come get him. Once they got him, another cop came over to the woman recording (who had said her boyfriend was killed back in 2015 by the cops) and told her that he matched a description of a suspect in a robbery nearby. That they only had the guns and shit for protection. I'm crying, screaming "WHAT ABOUT HIS PROTECTION?!" Boy I was pissed.
So after I calmed down, I frantically tried to get the video posted to all of my social media outlets when my new news corespondent called and explained the whole situation. Here's what happened:
1. Dude actually did rob the store đ¤ˇđżââď¸
2. Him and 2 of his friends kept coming in and out of gas stations taking stuff, beat up one of the cashiers and threw a trash can at another
3. He really was unarmed
4. The boyfriend of the videographer was killed in 2015 after reaching for an officer's gun... Twice
5. The big ass guns were bean bag guns
6. He was arrested and released after 3 days
Ok.
But still, did it really take over 15 officers for this? The video starts out with more than several but they just kepts showing up, all for ONE DUDE. It was excessive. When this shit happens to white dudes, (guilty or not) the narrative will change. But knowing that this happens to INNOCENT Black men all of the time, how the hell are we supposed to "relax" when 5-0 show up?!
